Genetic Algorithms
The Basics
In general, the term "genetic algorithms" is used to define a large group
of software programs that solve common problems in a similar fashion. Software
based simulation of evolutionary processes began as early as the 1950's.
Eventually computer scientists and mathemeticians realized that these
evolutionary simulations could be used to search for solutions to
computationally challenging problems.
In their simplest form, genetic algorithms use randomized processes to
search for solutions that meet certain constraints. In the GetFiterator,
the randomized processes are used to develop "evolutionary" exercise routines
that meet your specific criteria. These criteria are based on your goals
(lose weight / gain strength) and your current ability (strength level).
These evolutionary routines change each time a routine is created. The
exercises involved, the set and rep structure and the specific weights
involved will vary but will always meet the constraints set by your goals
and abilities.
